Bass Rock & Craig Leith: Depth – variable, depending on site

The Bass Rock lies 3 miles from North Berwick. It’s towering basalt cliffs are home to the largest Gannet colony in Europe. The steep underwater cliffs of the Bass are covered in dead men’s fingers and plumose anemones to name but a few species. There is also a healthy population of Grey seals which breed in a cave on the Bass. An excellent accompaniment to the Bass Rock is Craig Leith; a smaller island within very close proximity and with just as much good diving.

May Island (Firth Of Forth): Depth – variable, depending on site

Lying in the middle of the Firth of Forth, the May Island, with its stacks, archways and vertical underwater cliffs, makes a great days diving and the extra effort required in getting there is definitely worth while. The May is a Special Area of Conservation, has an amazing diversity of marine life, and is home to thousands of sea birds and a large colony of Grey Seals. Shoals of Pollock and Cod can also be found amongst the many reefs and wrecks, which lie off this island.

Bell Rock (Stevenson’s lighthouse): Depth ~ 18m

The Bell Rock lighthouse was engineered by Robert Stevenson and construction completed 1811. This is, without doubt, one of the areas most spectacular dive sites and never fails to impress each time we visit. Lying 14 miles from St Andrews the Bell Rock is exposed to very rough weather conditions and strong tides so careful planning is required to get the best from this site and we can help you with that!
