Gwendoline

Type: Steamship
Date of loss: 17/11/1893
Depth (seabed): 73m
The Middlesbrough-registered iron steamship Gwendoline was built by Raylton Dixon of Middlesbrough in 1876, (Yard No. 129) for Swan & Co. The 525 gross ton steam ship left Bo’ness on the 17/11/93 bound for Hull with a cargo of coal and was never heard of again. She was identified when a serving plate was recovered, with Swan line crest and SS Gwendoline of Middlesburgh on the reverse, a great dive.
