Scenic & shallow wreck diving
For scenic and shallow wreck scuba divers, Marine Quest offers several great dive trips and packages ideal for beginners, trainees, and more experienced divers who prefer shallower dives abundant with marine life.
Typically, most of the dives are in the marine reserve or surrounding areas, between 15-30 metres, and within 15-20 minutes from the harbour.

Highlights include:
Berwickshire Marine Reserve (previously known as the famous St Abbs & Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve)
-
Don't miss the legendary Black Carr just outside of St Abbs - a dramatic underwater reef famous for sighting the Wolf fish, a cold-water species seen here at its most southerly point.
-
The famous SS Glanmire offers slack-water diving at 30m, just 300m offshore, and breathtaking marine life, including wolf fish, conger eels, and large shoals of fish.
-
Another interesting dive is the SS Odense (the ‘Peanut boat’). With its surrounding rocky reefs and beautiful kelp forests, it is an ideal wreck dive for beginners at a maximum depth of 15m.

What to expect
Each trip includes 2 dives, and we take 2 cylinders on board. A dive trip is typically a half-day (4-5 hours). We have at least an hour of surface time to relax and enjoy the views while enjoying a hot drink and cake. You might even spot the dolphins or a Minke whale. The dive sites will be decided on the day, considering the sea conditions and the weather.

The Jacob George accommodates up to 12 divers and features a dive lift for easy entry and exit. It also offers a deck-access toilet, seating in the wheelhouse, ample indoor space to keep valuables safe and dry, and cabin bunks for any longer passages.
